Wait...August starts on Friday?!

Surely Google Calendar is lying to us right now? đŸ«

Hey y’all it’s us again! (John and Alec). Summer is rolling along and somehow it’s pretty much August already? Not sure how that happened but we’re excited to close out summer strong and gear up for an awesome last few months of 2025! Let’s see what’s been happening on everyone’s favorite unhinged professional social media platform in the past 7 days :).

MVP (Most Vulnerable Poster)

It doesn’t get much more vulnerable than literally posting about a hospital stay, which is exactly what earned Chaim Simcha this week’s MVP award. Let’s take a look at what he did well in this post as well as his great content in general (check him out, you won’t regret it!):

  • Be funny: I’m sure it’s hard to be funny from a hospital bed, but Chaim did it and he does it with most of his posts. As discussed here many a time, LinkedIn can be a pretty heavy place, so if you can find a way to make people laugh it’s a good way to keep them coming back!

  • Let people in: Chaim provides his audience with a glimpse into his real life (including his hospital bed!). This can be a fine line to walk, but one quick visit to his LI page I learned that he loves art and coffee. Giving people a window into the personal side is a great way to build trust before they even meet you.

  • Reposts (?): Honestly this is a new one and I’m not sure how well it works, but it’s hard to argue with Chaim’s numbers! It looks like he reposts most of his content and it’s a pretty interesting strategy. Might be an interesting way to give your audience multiple chances to see your content, maybe we’ll try it this week and report back 😄.

Least Robotic Sounding Company (we need your help!)

The reason we created this category for the newsletter is quite frankly, it’s hard to find brands who are killing it on LinkedIn and wouldn’t ya know it, that has really come back to haunt us đŸ€Ł! So we are enlisting the help of our amazing readers- what brands in your orbit are killing it lately with authentic, non-robotic content on LinkedIn? Shoot us a quick reply and let us know who to shout out! We want to put the best brands on a pedestal but frankly, they’re so rare that we couldn’t find any this week🧐. Let us know who’s killing it and we’ll give them some love in the weeks to come!

Oddest thing we saw this week

It seems like the last few weeks have been BACKLASH SZN on LinkedIn! Whether it’s the folks over at Astronomer or American Eagle’s marketing strategy, LinkedIn has felt very twitter-y the past few weeks. People seem pretty upset about the tactics certain companies are taking on the marketing site, and then people are getting upset about the people who got upset! Some people are even upset about the people who got upset about the people who got upset. Confused yet? So are we! What do y’all think about the uptick in outrage/backlash content on LinkedIn? A good sign for the discourse on the platform, or sign that things are not “professional” enough anymore?

Parting thoughts: Let it rip!: We’ve been talking to a lot of people lately who are scared to get out there and start sharing their two cents on LinkedIn. First of all, if you’re thinking that way you are far from alone. However, the only way to start is just to start, so go out there and let it rip, see how it goes, and adjust your strategy! Get out on the field and some cool stuff is bound to happen.

Have an amazing week y’all!

Alec and John
